about this project
The Launchpad is a three storey development boasting a mixture of offices, workshops, research facilities, break out areas, café and seminar spaces.
We worked closely with our long standard M&E Contractor client and, Consulting Engineers during the design stages of this project to ensure that all installed services met the requirements of the end user.
6no. Mitsubishi Hybrid VRF heat Recovery systems were installed throughout the building. Hybrid VRF (HVRF) is a 2-pipe heat recovery VRF with water between the HBC and the indoor units. With water at the indoor units, HVRF gives comfortable and stable temperatures without the need for refrigerant in occupied spaces, meaning simple compliance to BS EN378, and removing the need for refrigerant leak detection.
As all services within the office spaces are fully exposed, all water pipework between the 11no. HBC's and 42no. fan coil units were installed in copper which Trident completed on behalf of our client. Due to the exposed nature of the services, the installation had to be meticulously planned to ensure a fully coordinated and aesthetically pleasing installation.
