The Fountains High School in Burton on Trent, is a school catering for children aged from 11 to 19 with a wide variety of needs and disabilities

We were appointed by our long standing main contractor client to provide the full HVAC & Mechanical services to the new facility.

The Sports Hall itself is heated via electric infa red radiant heaters and ventilated to comply with Sports England Specification.

The changing and toilet facilities receive hot water via 2no. Daikin Altherma air source heat pump systems, which in turn serve 2no. 300l cylinders, providing domestic hot water at up to 60 degrees Celsius, controlled at all tap outlets via thermostatic mixing valves to ensure safe and comfortable supply temperatures. Extract ventilation systems are installed in all changing and toilet zones to meet building regulation requirements - these systems are operated via either the lighting circuit or PIR's to ensure operational energy efficiency.

Both male & female changing rooms, together with the entrance lobby are heated and cooled via Daikin heat pump air conditioning systems. Ceiling cassette units are located in all areas providing conditioned air to the occupied spaces.

This is the 2nd sports hall of its type we have completed alongside our client, with a 3rd on the way in 2026.
